HIKING

The path to Lačna (451m), at the top you will be greeted by a 15m high observation tower. For an easier route, choose the starting point from Kubed.

The route to Lipnik (804m), we recommend the village of Rakitovec as a starting point. The path is especially beautiful in May, when the daffodils are in bloom.

Path to Slavnik (1028), an extremely popular hill visited by local residents all year round. The starting point is in Podgorje.

VALLEY OF RIŽANA AND DRAGONJA RIVERS

The Rižana River is the most water-abundant river in Slovenian Istria and represents the main source of drinking water in this area. Rižana is part of the Natura 2000 area and an ecologically important area, as it represents a habitat for some endangered animal species.

The Dragonja River is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of Slovenian Istria. It originates on the slopes of the Šavrinski hills and winds its way through the valley, where it creates picturesque waterfalls, gorges, gravel shorelines, meanders and stream pools.

CLIMBING

The village of Osp, which is one of the oldest in Slovenia, is an ideal place for lovers of climbing and hiking. A steep karst slope rises above the village, which surrounds the village and represents its “protective sign”. Mišja peč and Osapska stena are considered to be one of the most important climbing areas in Europe.
